How to Design Nursery & Dining Room Spaces with Depth; where Luxury & Function Unite

For this months blog post I had the pleasure of teaming up with the incredibly talented Cydney from Schwartz & Co., a virtual interior decorator based in Saskatoon, Canada. Her ability to craft inviting spaces with a touch of moodiness is truly remarkable. Together, we've created two stunning mood boards for a cozy nursery and a moody dining room, both spaces featuring my own wallpaper designs!

For the nursery, Cydney selected my Malina Sweet Pea's Silhouette - Dark Beige (available at Spoonflower) wallpaper as the focal point. "My goal was to create a peaceful sanctuary that inspires creativity," Cydney explains. The whimsical floral details add charm and the neutral tones foster a calm and relaxing environment.
Regarding the furniture selection, Cydney says, "Every piece of furniture was chosen for its blend of comfort and practicality, ensuring the room feels elegant while still being functional for everyday life." The mood board perfectly showcases Cydney's design philosophy, blending muted pastels with soft neutrals to encourage rest and imagination.
To finish the space, warm accents were thoughtfully incorporated. "Accents like the cozy rug and carefully selected wall art complete the space, inviting both baby and parents to relax and enjoy," shares Cydney.
In the dining room, Cydney opted for my Charlotte's Climbing Roses - Silhouette in Evergreen wallpaper as the centrepiece. "I let the wallpaper take center stage, using it to set the scene with its subtle sophistication," Cydney says.
The sophisticated floral pattern in evergreen adds texture and interest, while the muted tones of the furniture and décor balance the space, creating a harmonious and welcoming atmosphere.
Cydney's vision for the dining room was "to achieve a perfect balance between elegance and comfort." The dining set, featuring clean lines and a modern style, anchors the space, while soft accents and warm tones in the décor invite guests to relax and feel at home. "It's an ideal setting for sharing meals and making memories in a space that feels both classic and fresh," she concludes.
